PTPTN Education Loan Scheme was set up with the aim of providing education loans to students pursuing their studies in local institutions of higher learning (IPT). Employees Provident Fund (Malay: Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja) commonly known by the acronym EPF (Malay: KWSP) is a Malaysian government agency under the Ministry of Finance. In 2000, the government has established a Skills Development Fund (TPK) to provide financial assistance in the form of loans to skills trainees especially school leavers. The fund is managed by the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK). The function of PTPK is to provide skills training loan to individuals such as school leavers, graduates and others who are interested in pursuing Malaysian Skills Certification (SKM), Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM) and Malaysian Advanced Skills Diploma (DLKM) at Public or Private Skills Training Providers accredited by DSD.
